Dr. Leicht earned a Bachelor of Art in biology with high academic honors from SUNY Binghamton in Binghamton NY. Afterward, he obtained his Doctor of Medicine (Cum Laude) from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and was elected to the AOA Honor Medical Society his junior year. Next, he completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and went on to complete an additional residency in Dermatology at the Boston University/ Tufts University Conjoint Dermatology Residency Training Program in Boston, MA.
Doctor Leicht is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology and a Fellow of The American Academy of Dermatology and American College of Physicians. Furthermore, for 36 years, he was a Professor of Medicine and Chief, Division of Dermatology at the Quillen College of Medicine. While at the VAMC, he also served as an academic hospitalist and an ER physician. He helped train many medical students and residents over the years, many of whom practice in our area. Subsequently, Dr. Leicht was the recipient of numerous teaching awards and is the author of many peer-reviewed publications. Meanwhile, He has been elected by his peers consecutively since 1996 to Best Doctors and was the first physician in the region to be so recognized. He has been elected to America’s Best Doctors the last 5 years. Lastly, Dr. Leicht’s practice is restricted to Dermatology.
